Questions

1–10 of 10 Questions
  1. What is the proper disposal method for Water filter products at the end of their life? In the past, there was a recycling program, but since that system has ended, what is the appropriate approach for disposal?

    1 answer
    1. The recycling program was discontinued due to low usage. It closed because of low activity and infrequent consumable returns. The materials being non-hazardous can be disposed of with standard laboratory waste.

  2. What are the storage conditions for this product?

    1 answer
    1. Recommended storage conditions: temperatures from 5 to 30°C; humidity between 10 and 80%. The original sealed bag (if provided) must be kept intact before the first use to protect the purification element from foreign matter.

      Helpful?

  3. How are consumables changed?

    1 answer
    1. To help you to change your system's consumables, several video tutorials are available on our YouTube channel: https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PL2TUriaAaEA_IXDCnPbDk6OmrwptjwOHD. For high-flow systems, please keep in mind that all consumable changes must be approved by a 3-digit code that only the person in charge of the system knows.

      Helpful?

  4. How can I know which consumables can be used with my system?

    1 answer
    1. To know which consumables can be used on your system, you can see in the user manual of your system or see all the consumables for each system listed on https://www.sigmaaldrich.com/products/water-purification/milli-q-consumables.

      Helpful?

  5. What steps are you taking towards improved sustainability?

    1 answer
    1. Sustainability is at the heart of our innovations. From reducing water and energy consumption, to minimizing plastic and chemical waste, our dedicated water system engineers are constantly working on new ways to reduce the ecological footprint of our products to better support the sustainability goals we're all striving towards. For more information, we invite you to review the following brochure and infographic which highlight our efforts and achievements: https://www.sigmaaldrich.com/life-science/milliq#sus. Do not hesitate to contact your local representative or sales contact (https://www.sigmaaldrich.com/collections/offices) for further information.

      Helpful?

  6. Can I arrange to have my consumables automatically ordered and delivered once a year?

    1 answer
    1. It's possible to place only one consumable order per year with a specific contract called "Consumable Supply Agreement (CSA)" (https://www.sigmaaldrich.com/US/en/products/water-purification/milli-q-consumables#csa). For further information, contact your local representative or sales contact (https://www.sigmaaldrich.com/US/en/collections/offices).

      Helpful?

  7. Can consumables be opened and refilled?

    1 answer
    1. Unfortunately, this is not possible because of safety issues and the need to guarantee the quality of consumables and their interior purification components. Our consumables are manufactured in an ISO 9001-certified facility France in agreement with high quality standards.

      Helpful?

  8. How frequently do the various consumables need to be changed?

    1 answer
    1. The frequency that consumables must be changed depends on the system's usage (treated water volume) and on the consumables themselves (time of usage). In order to ensure the quality of water and your results, the consumables should be replaced when the system alerts you.

      Helpful?

  9. What is the consumables delivery time?

    1 answer
    1. Refer to the consumable's Product page for a first estimation of its expected delivery time and contact customer service for more information.

      Helpful?

  10. Where can I find data sheets, Certificates of Origin, Certificates of Analysis, and Certificates of Quality?

    1 answer
    1. Documents and certificates are available in the "Documentation" section on this page. Do not hesitate to contact us if you require further information.

    For Adavantage A10 system

Good filter for our water system. Just wish Millipore had a usage amount for the filters. They only state the filters are good for one year. (10,000L?, 100,000L?, more/less?). Our SOP states to change the filters every 6 months. I need a volume to justify to change to one year. Anyway, the filters after about 40,000L still maintain integrity.
