General description

The Millipore Regenerated Cellulose Membrane Filter is an ultrafiltration membrane disc made with hydrophilic regenerated cellulose (RC membrane) designed to selectively retain macromolecules under 30 kDa while allowing smaller molecules, salts, and solvents to pass through under applied pressure.

Application

The Regenerated Cellulose Membrane Filter, 30 kDa NMWCO has been used in:
  • Tangential flow filtration (TFF) to study how 30 kDa MWCO membranes affect the concentration and composition of surfactants like Polysorbate 20 in biopharmaceutical protein drug production processes.
  • It may be used for concentration, diafiltration, and buffer exchange of biological macromolecules including proteins, enzymes, antibodies, and viruses.

Features and Benefits

  • Ultracel® membranes ensure the highest recovery of dilute solutions
  • The Regenerated Cellulose Membrane filter is a hydrophilic membrane designed to minimize protein binding and adsorption of DNA and other macromolecules.
  • This membrane provides broad solvent compatibility, including with DMSO.
  • Avoid exposure to amines, strong acids (phosphoric acid >10%), phenol (>0.5%), hydrochloric acid (>0.01 N), and solutions with pH <3 or >13.
  • The maximum recommended operating pressure is 483 kPa (70 psi).
  • It also supports multiple sterilization methods (formalin, glutaraldehyde, sterilizing gas) and can be restored using NaOH, NaOCl, or enzymatic cleaners (Micro or Tergazyme®).
