General description

This certified reference material (CRM) is produced in accordance with ISO 17034 and characterized in accordance with ISO/IEC 17025. This CRM is traceable to SI unit kg and measured against primary material from a National Metrology Institute (NMI), e.g. NIST.

Please visit ISO certificates and Site Quality Self-Assessments to access the current certificates of accreditation.

Application

The calcium standard solution may find its following use:
  • To determine metals in milk samples using flame atomic absorption spectroscopy (FAAS) and complexometric titration with EDTA
  • Estimation of calcium in grape must and base wine by fourier transform near-infrared (FT-NIR) spectroscopy
  • In the method development to determine calcium, magnesium, potassium, iron, copper, zinc, manganese and phosphorus in bread samples by microwave plasma-atomic emission spectrometry (MIP-AES)[1]
  • Validation of an alternative method to measure calcium and magnesium in biological fluids
  • Determination of calcium and zinc in gluconate oral solutions and blood samples by liquid cathode glow discharge-atomic emission spectroscopy (LCGD-AES)
  • Development and validation of an inductively coupled plasma-atomic emission spectroscopy (ICP-AES) based method to determine trace elements in vinegar

Questions

1–4 of 4 Questions
  1. Tiene acreditación ISO 17034 y reconocimiento por Ilac?

    1 answer
    1. Yes, this product holds ISO 17034 accreditation and ILAC recognition. This information is referenced in the lot-specific Certificate of Analysis.

      Helpful?

  2. Si la temperatura de almacenamiento es de 15-25ºC, se puede guardar en la nevera para una mejor conservación? El producto puede variar?

    1 answer
    1. There is no information available on the stability of this product when stored in the refrigerator. Storing the product in the refrigerator should not negatively affect it, provided the packaging remains tightly closed.

      Helpful?

  3. How can I determine the shelf life / expiration / retest date of this product?

    1 answer
    1. If this product has an expiration or retest date, it will be shown on the Certificate of Analysis (COA, CofA). If there is no retest or expiration date listed on the product's COA, we do not have suitable stability data to determine a shelf life. For these products, the only date on the COA will be the release date; a retest, expiration, or use-by-date will not be displayed.
For all products, we recommend handling per defined conditions as printed in our product literature and website product descriptions. We recommend that products should be routinely inspected by customers to ensure they perform as expected.
For products without retest or expiration dates, our standard warranty of 1 year from the date of shipment is applicable.
For more information, please refer to the Product Dating Information document: https://www.sigmaaldrich.com/deepweb/assets/sigmaaldrich/marketing/global/documents/418/501/product-dating-information-06-25-mk.pdf

      Helpful?

  4. How is shipping temperature determined? And how is it related to the product storage temperature?

    1 answer
    1. Products may be shipped at a different temperature than the recommended long-term storage temperature. If the product quality is sensitive to short-term exposure to conditions other than the recommended long-term storage, it will be shipped on wet or dry-ice. If the product quality is NOT affected by short-term exposure to conditions other than the recommended long-term storage, it will be shipped at ambient temperature. As shipping routes are configured for minimum transit times, shipping at ambient temperature helps control shipping costs for our customers. For more information, please refer to the Storage and Transport Conditions document: https://www.sigmaaldrich.com/deepweb/assets/sigmaaldrich/marketing/global/documents/316/622/storage-transport-conditions-mk.pdf
