General description

Desiccant sachet 100 g (orange silica gel) is a drying agent with a large surface area and high absorption capacity that provides longer storage conditions. It also changes its color from orange to colorless after moisture absorption.

Application

Desiccant sachet 100 g is commonly used to protect valuable and sensitive products from moisture. It is packed along with sensitive machine components and tools to prevent corrosion during storage and transport. Additionally, it maintains the function of sensitive optical, electrical, and electronic components and instruments.

Features and Benefits

  • Effective moisture reduction
  • Consistently high quality
  • User-friendly
  • Economical
  • Safe
  • Chemically stable under standard ambient conditions

Analysis Note

Water absorption capacity (24 h, 80 % relative humidity): ≥ 20 %
Loss on drying (140°C, 3 h): ≤ 10 %

Questions

1–3 of 3 Questions
  1. What is the temperature range of Product 1038050001 (10 x sachets of 100g Silica Gel Orange) - can they be used in a -20 C freezer? I can see that storage temp is reported to be 2-30C

    1 answer
    1. Product 1.03805 is composed of silica gel, which has a high adsorptive capacity for moisture: 20% of its own weight at 25 °C and 80% relative humidity. Please note that the recommended long-term storage temperatures is between 2 and 30 °C. The capacity has not been tested at -20 °C, so its use would need to be tested by the end user. For lower temperature applications, molecular sieves such as product 208590 may be more useful.

  2. Is it possible to regenerate the silica once they're fully saturated with water?

    1 answer
    1. Silica gel (orange gel) can be regenerated in a drying oven at 130–140°C; desiccant sachet should not be heated beyond 80°C, as bag adhesive can melt.

      Helpful?

  3. is it 100g per sachet?

    1 answer
    1. Product 1038050001 is a 10 x sachets of 100g Silica Gel Orange. So yes, it is 100g of Silica Gel Orange per sachet.
