General description

2,4-Dimethylphenylhydrazine hydrochloride is a hydrazine derivative.

Application

2,4-Dimethylphenylhydrazine hydrochloride was used for the synthesis of J147 (a novel neurotrophic drug) and its precursor desmethyl-J147. It was also used in the synthesis of 1-(2,4-dimethylphenyl)-4-methyl-5-(4-methoxyphenyl)-1H-pyrazole-3-carboxylic acid, ethyl ester.
