Gene Information

human ... SUMO1(7341)

General description

SUMO1 (small ubiquitin-related modifier) is also called as Pic1 (inner centromere protein-related protein), Ubl1 (ubiquitin-like protein), hSmt3 (human homolog 3), or sentrin. It is located in the nucleus. It is located in chromosome 2q33.
SUMO1 (small ubiquitin-related modifier) is also called as Pic1 (inner centromere protein-related protein), Ubl1 (ubiquitin-like protein), hSmt3 (human homolog 3), or sentrin. It is located in the nucleus. SUMO1 gene is located on human chromosome 2q33.

Immunogen

a 14 amino acid peptide from near the amino-terminus of human sumo.

Biochem/physiol Actions

Suppressing SUMO1 (small ubiquitin-related modifier) stops multiplication and induces apoptosis of gastric cancer SGC-7901 cells. It is essential for HCV (hepatitis C virus) replication. Deletion of SUMO1 blocks the aggregation of lipid droplets. It involves in mitochondrial fission.

Linkage

The action of this antibody can be blocked using blocking peptide SBP3969.

Physical form

Solution in phosphate buffered saline containing 0.02% sodium azide
