General description

1,4-Dioxane is a heterocyclic organic compound that is commonly used as a solvent in several chemical reactions. It is also used as a stabilizer in chlorinated solvents.

Application

1,4-Dioxane can be used as:
  • A solvent in the N-methylation of amines by reductive functionalization of CO2 in the presence of NaBH4 as the reducing reagent.
  • An additive to synthesize 3-hydroxylisoindolin-1-ones via hydroxylhydrative aza-cyclization of 2-alkynylbenzamide.

A mixture of 1,4-dioxane/ethanol/formic acid solvent system can be used in the depolymerization of lignin to synthesize value-added phenolic monomers.

4-Cyanoindole-2'-deoxyribonucleoside (4CIN) is a fluorescent isomorphic nucleoside analogue with superior spectroscopic properties in terms of Stokes shift and quantum yield in comparison to the widely utilized isomorphic nucleoside analogue, 2-aminopurine-2'-deoxyribonucleoside (2APN). Notably, when inserted into single- or double-stranded DNA, 4CIN

It remains a challenge to synthesize functional materials that can develop advanced scaffolding architectures for tissue engineering. In this study, a series of biodegradable amphiphilic poly(hydroxyalkyl (meth)acrylate)-graft-poly(l-lactic acid) (PHAA-g-PLLA) copolymers have been synthesized and fabricated into nano-fibrous scaffolds. These copolymers
