General description

Gamithromycin is a drug, which is administered to cattle for the treatment of bovine respiratory disease caused by Pasteurella multocida, Histophilus somni and Mannheimia haemolytica. It is also effective in treating certain infections caused by Mycoplasma.

Application

Gamithromycin may be used as a reference standard in the determination of gamithromycin in samples of plasma, lung tissue and pulmonary epithelial lining fluid using liquid chromatography coupled with tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS-MS).
