General description

The most hydrophobic of the Chromolith® WP 300 line, the RP-18 column is useful for the resolution of peptides and smaller proteins. One critical quality attribute (CQA) required by regulatory bodies is the peptide map of a biotherapeutic. Peptide maps generated by RP-HPLC provide valuable information about protein structure, stability, and purity. To be effective, the RPHPLC column must be able to resolve a high percentage of the peptides in the sample. The more peptides, the better the information.
The Chromolith® WP 300 RP-18 column gives unsurpassed RP-HPLC resolution of peptide maps from enzymatic digests. The improvements in silica and bonded-phase chemistry incorporated into the Chromolith® WP 300 line improve resolution by increasing efficiency and reducing peak tailing.

Chromolith® WP 300 columns are made of monolithic silica with a characteristic bimodal pore structure.

Chromolith® WP 300 RP-18, 2 mm I.D. columns have macropores with 2 μm diameter, giving a column efficiency exceeding 80,000 plates/meter. The mesopores are 30 nm (300 Å), the surface modification is Octadecylsilane. Chromolith® WP 300 RP-18 columns fall under the USP L1 Classification. Chromolith® WP 300 RP-18 columns are fully suitable for LC-MS applications.
The column dimension of 100 mm length and 2 mm I.D. is the best choice for fast separations of Biomolecules on any UHPLC System.

Chromolith® WP 300 RP-18, 100-2 HPLC columns enable:
—Completely bioinert column hardware and high biorecovery
—High-speed separations at very low column back-pressure
—High matrix tolerance, allowing time and cost savings with simplified workflows
—Cost savings due to extended column lifetimes
—Connection of columns, flow gradients and the use of mobile phases with higher viscosity

The recommended Guard-columns are:
Chromolith® WP 300 RP-18, 5-2 guard cartridges (3 pieces) [1.52372] with the Chromolith® Guard Cartridge Holder Bioinert 5 mm x 2 mm [1.52355]

The Chromolith® column coupler can be used to significantly increase the separation efficiency of Chromolith® columns by coupling several columns in series. [1.51467]
