We studied the immobilization of a mycelium (Aspergillus niger) using the working hypothesis as follows: (a) when polycation was added to the cell suspension, a few parts of it would bind on the surface of a hypha, allowing to gather

The preparation and spectroscopic and microscopic characterization of oriented polyelectrolyte multilayers (PEM) interesting for defined nanostructured functional materials and surfaces are reviewed. Oriented PEM were generated by consecutively adsorbing α-helical poly(l-lysine) (PLL) and oppositely charged polyanions like poly(vinylsulfate) (PVS) or

Double stranded calf thymus deoxyribonucleic acid entrapped polypyrrole-polyvinyl sulphonate (dsCT-DNA-PPy-PVS) films fabricated onto indium-tin-oxide (ITO) coated glass plates have been used to detect organophosphates such as chlorpyrifos and malathion. These disposable dsCT-DNA-PPy-PVS/ITO bioelectrodes have been characterized using cyclic voltammetry, Fourier-transform-infra-red

Recently, layer-by-layer (LbL) assembly has emerged as a versatile, gentle and, simple method for immobilization of functional molecules in an easily controllable thin film morphology.1,2 In this short review, we introduce recent advances in functional systems fabricated by using the mild, yet adaptable LbL technique.

We present an article that discusses two applications in particular; first, using these layers as polyelectrolyte membranes to control permeability.

Our team of scientists has experience in all areas of research including Life Science, Material Science, Chemical Synthesis, Chromatography, Analytical and many others.
