Aplicación

R(+)-SCH-23390 hydrochloride has been used:
  • for intraperitoneal injection into experimental rats to study the role of D1 receptor in sensitization[1]
  • as a D1 receptor-selective antagonist for intracranial drug infusions[2]
  • as an antagonist of D1 receptor to study its effect on learning ability in fish[3]

Acciones bioquímicas o fisiológicas

R(+)-SCH-23390 hydrochloride is a selective D1 dopamine receptor antagonist. It has greater binding capacity towards 5-hydroxytryptamine 2 (5-HT2) and 5-HT1C serotonin receptor subtypes in in vitro. R(+)-SCH-23390 has a half-life of about 25 minutes after administration. It is known to possess anti-stereotypic effect and cataleptogenic effect. It also has inhibitory effect on motor activity.[4]

      Helpful?

  2. Is Product D054, R(+)-SCH-23390 hydrochloride, light sensitive?

    1 answer
    1. Yes, D054 is light sensitive. The powder form of the product, as well as solutions of the product, need to be protected from light.

      Helpful?

  3. How does the storage temperature relate to shipping conditions?

    1 answer
    1. The storage conditions that a Sigma-Aldrich catalog and label recommend for products are deliberately conservative. For many products, long-term storage at low temperatures will increase the time during which they are expected to remain in specification and therefore are labeled accordingly. Where short-term storage, shipping time frame, or exposure to conditions other than those recommended for long-term storage will not affect product quality, Sigma-Aldrich will ship at ambient temperature. The products sensitive to short-term exposure to conditions other than their recommended long-term storage are shipped on wet or dry ice. Ambient temperature shipping helps to control shipping costs for our customers. At any time, our customers can request wet- or dry-ice shipment, but the special handling is at customer expense if our product history indicates that the product is stable for regular shipment.

  4. How do I dissolve Product D054, R(+)-SCH-23390 hydrochloride?

    1 answer
    1. The D054 is tested for solublity in water at > 5 mg/mL. The product is also reported to be soluble in DMSO at 3mg/mL, and in ethanol at 2 mg/mL.

      Helpful?

  5. Is Product D054, R(+)-SCH-23390 hydrochloride, only selective for the D1 dopamine receptor antagonist?

    1 answer
    1. The D054 is a selective D1 dopamine receptor antagonist, but is also selective to the D5.

      Helpful?

  6. What is the solution stability of Product D054, R(+)-SCH-23390 hydrochloride?

    1 answer
    1. Solutions may be stored for approximately 24 hours at 2-8 °C, protected from exposure to light.
