General description

La policaprolactona (PCL) es un poliéster biodegradable hidrófobo cristalino que encuentra aplicaciones importantes como administrador de medicamentos debido a su rentabilidad, su gran resistencia y su biocompatibilidad. La PCL posee algunas propiedades únicas, como:
  • Se degrada más despacio que otros poliésteres biodegradables en condiciones fisiológicas; esta propiedad puede ser explotada en la liberación controlada de medicamentos en tejidos específicos a lo largo de un periodo determinado.
  • Su baja humectación superficial e interacción con los líquidos biológicos a cuenta de su hidrofobicidad provoca mala adhesión y proliferación celulares. Por consiguiente, se mezcla con otros polímeros sintéticos o naturales.[1]

Application

  • La PCL cargada con antibióticos puede utilizarse para tratar infecciones de las vías respiratorias como la tuberculosis.
  • Se llevaron a cabo investigaciones basadas en las respuestas fenotípicas de las células mesenquimatosas de la médula ósea humana (hBMSCs) para diferentes proporciones de mezclas quitosano/policaprolactona (PCL).[1]
  • Se han estudiado la PCL y los materiales cerámicos biomédicos para una posible regeneración de los tejidos óseos.
  • Acción de las concentraciones de PCL/insulina graduada/beta-5 glicerofosfato sobre la formación de tejido osteocondral mediante diferenciación de las células del estroma procedentes del tejido adiposo.[2]
  • Otros usos generales son: ayuda a la extrusión, lubricante, desmoldeo, ayuda a la dispersión de pigmentos y rellenos, y segmentos de poliéster en uretanos y poliésteres en bloque.

If the product quality is sensitive to short-term exposure to conditions other than the recommended long-term storage, it will be shipped on wet or dry-ice. If the product quality is NOT affected by short-term exposure to conditions other than the recommended long-term storage, it will be shipped at ambient temperature. As shipping routes are configured for minimum transit times, shipping at ambient temperature helps control shipping costs for our customers.   2. How can I determine the shelf life / expiration / retest date of this product?

    1. If this product has an expiration or retest date, it will be shown on the Certificate of Analysis (COA, CofA). If there is no retest or expiration date listed on the product's COA, we do not have suitable stability data to determine a shelf life. For these products, the only date on the COA will be the release date; a retest, expiration, or use-by-date will not be displayed.
      For all products, we recommend handling per defined conditions as printed in our product literature and website product descriptions. We recommend that products should be routinely inspected by customers to ensure they perform as expected.
      For products without retest or expiration dates, our standard warranty of 1 year from the date of shipment is applicable.

      Please note, the curve cannot be guaranteed as this is not something that is tested internally.
