Specificity

Antibody recognizes actin isotypes alpha and gamma of smooth muscle cells, but not skeletal or cardiac muscle cells. Reactive with myoepithelium, but nonreactive with other mesenchymal and all epithelial cells. The antibody labels eiomyosarcomas and leiomyomas but does not react with other neoplasms such as carcinomas or lymphoma.
