Anti-PECAM-1 Antibody detects endogenous levels of total PECAM-1 protein.
The platelet and endothelial cell adhesion molecule 1 (PECAM1) gene, spanning 75-kb, is mapped on the long arm of human chromosome 17. This gene codes for 130-kD protein, which belongs to the immunoglobulin (Ig) superfamily. It is a vital component of the endothelial cell intercellular junction. PECAM1 is expressed on the surface of circulating platelets, monocytes, neutrophils and selected T-cell subsets.
Immunogen
The antiserum was produced against synthesized peptide derived from human PECAM-1.
Immunogen Range: 686-735
Application
Anti-PECAM-1, C-Terminal antibody produced in rabbit has been used in immunohistochemistry.[1]

Biochem/physiol Actions
Platelet and endothelial cell adhesion molecule 1 (PECAM1) also called as cluster of differentiation 31 (CD31), plays a crucial role in the adhesion cascade leading to leukocyte extravasation during the inflammatory process. PECAM1 is essential for leukocyte transmigration via intercellular junctions of vascular endothelial cells. Genetic polymorphism of PECAM1 is associated with atherosclerotic events. PECAM1, is a membrane glycoprotein that facilitates both homophilic and heterophilic adhesion. PECAM1 is also implicated in angiogenesis.

Tyrosine kinase with immunoglobulin-like and EGF-like domains 2 (Tie2) activation in Schlemm's canal (SC) endothelium is required for the maintenance of IOP, making the angiopoietin/Tie2 pathway a target for new and potentially disease modifying glaucoma therapies. The goal of the
Genetic polymorphisms of platelet endothelial cell adhesion molecule-1 (PECAM-1) were found to play roles in atherosclerotic events. We determined PECAM-1 polymorphisms, soluble PECAM-1, and CD40L levels in rheumatoid arthritis (RA) and systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) and evaluated their associations with

Programmed cell death 5 (PDCD5) is an apoptosis promoter molecule that displays multiple biological activities. However, the function of PDCD5 in vivo has not yet been investigated. Here, we generated a Pdcd5 knockout mouse model to study the physiological role

We have previously demonstrated that a pooled population of bone marrow-derived, allogeneic mesenchymal stromal cells (BMMSC), Stempeucel®-1, produced under good manufacturing practices (GMP) conditions, showed clinical efficacy and safety in patients suffering from critical limb ischemia (CLI) due to Buerger's
The endothelium responds to numerous chemical and mechanical factors in regulating vascular tone, blood pressure, and blood flow. The endothelial volume-regulated anion channel (VRAC) has been proposed to be mechanosensitive and thereby sense fluid flow and hydrostatic pressure to regulate
