Application

L-N5-(1-Iminoethyl) ornithine hydrochloride has been used to study the effects of the cytotoxic drug paclitaxel and carbachol (a cholinergic agonist) to induce death in breast tumor MCF-7 cells and the role of nitric oxide synthase (NOS) in this effect. It has also been used to study its effects on pulmonary arterial responses to sufentanil in the feline pulmonary vascular bed.
