Application

Ammonium phosphate dibasic can be used to study x-ray crystallography, biological buffers, optimization reagents, proteomics and protein structural analysis. Ammonium phosphate dibasic has been used in a study for the development and validation of a stability-indicating HPLC method for determination of voriconazole and its related substances. Ammonium phosphate dibasic has also been used to crystallize the native enzyme cellobiohydrolase IB using the hanging-drop vapour-diffusion method.

Cellobiohydrolase IB is the first native enzyme from the filamentous fungus Talaromyces emersonii to be crystallized. It is a highly thermostable exo-acting enzyme. The native enzyme (MW = 56 kDa) was crystallized using the hanging-drop vapour-diffusion method with ammonium phosphate
