General description

Method: photometric 0.03 - 2.30 mg/l NO₂⁻ 0.010-0.700 mg/l NO₂-N Spectroquant®
The method is analogous to EPA 354.1, APHA 4500-NO2 - B, and DIN EN 26777.
This Spectroquant® Nitrite Cell Test allows the accurate quantification of the nitrite content in aqueous samples.
Method applied: In acidic solution nitrite ions react with sulfanilic acid to form a diazonium salt. This reacts with N-(1-naphthyl)ethylenediamine dihydrochloride to form a red-violet azo dye that is determined photometrically.
The Spectroquant® Cell Tests come with prefilled 16 mm round cells and all the required reagents to perform the analysis according to the instruction leaflet provided .
All Spectroquant® Cell and Reagent Test Kits are equipped with the unique Live ID (2DD barcode) which allows seamless method recognition and contains essential information such as lot number, expiry date, and automatic calibration updates.

Application

  • Bronchom assuages airway hyperresponsiveness in house dust mite-induced mouse model of allergic asthma and moderates goblet cell metaplasia, sub-epithelial fibrosis along with changes in Th2 cytokines and chemokines.: This study discusses the nitrite cell test in evaluating goblet cell metaplasia and sub-epithelial fibrosis in a mouse model of asthma, providing insights into cellular changes and cytokine responses (Balkrishna et al., 2024).
