3,5-Dimethoxybenzyl bromide is an aromatic bromide.

Application

3,5-Dimethoxybenzyl bromide may be used in the synthesis of:
  • 3,4,3′,5′-tetramethoxystilbene[1]
  • 3,5-dimethoxyphenylacetic acid[2]
  • 1-(3,5-dimethoxyphenyl)-4-pentene[3]
It may be used as starting material in the multi-step synthesis of resveratrol[4] and 3,5-dimethoxyhomophthalic acid.[2]
