Description générale

Osteocalcin is an abundant, non-collagenous protein component of bone that is produced by osteoblasts. Osteocalcin appears transiently in embryonic bone at the time of mineral deposition, where it binds to hydroxyapatite in a calcium-dependent manner. In addition, osteocalcin is one of the most abundant, non-collagenous proteins found in mineralized adult bone. Osteocalcin is often studied in the osteogenesis of embryonic and mesenchymal stem cells.

Immunogène

KLH-conjugated linear peptide corresponding to Human Osteocalcin.

The inorganic part of human bone is mainly composed of hydroxyapatite (HAP: Ca10(PO4)6(OH)2) and whitlockite (WH: Ca18Mg2(HPO4)2(PO4)12) minerals, where the WH phase occupies up to 20-35% of total weight. These two bone minerals have different crystal structures and physicochemical properties

Autologous bone grafts are the gold standard for treating bone defects. However, limited bone supply and morbidity at the donor site restrict its extensive use. Therefore, developing bone graft materials as an alternative to autologous grafts has gained considerable attention.

Given that autologous bone graft for bone defects is limited by insufficient supply and morbidity at the donor site, developing biomimetic graft materials as an alternative has gained consistent attention. However, obstacles in designing bone-mimetic materials that could integrate the

Precisely deciphering the molecular mechanisms of age-related memory loss is crucial to create appropriate therapeutic interventions. We have previously shown that the histone-binding protein RbAp48/Rbbp4 is a molecular determinant of Age-Related Memory Loss. By exploring how this protein regulates the
