General description
Psilocin is a natural psychoactive compound that belongs to the class of tryptamine alkaloids. It is one of the main hallucinogenic compounds obtained from widely known “magic mushrooms”― Psilocybe, Panaeolus, and Conocybe. Known by street names such as Shrooms, Boomers, or Musk, psilocin has effects similar to LSD and DMT.
Application
- Development of an ultra-high-performance liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometric (UHPLC-MS/MS) method to quantify psilocybin and psilocin in samples of seized hallucinogenic mushrooms and hair obtained from accused users
- Multi-residue analysis of psilocin, psilocybin, mescaline, N,N-dimethyltryptamine, and salvinorin A in human hair samples using ultra-high-pressure liquid chromatography (UHPLC) combined with tandem mass spectrometry (MS/MS)
- Liquid chromatography-electrospray ionization-tandem mass spectrometric (LC-ESI-MS/MS) analysis of psilocin, bufotenine, lysergic acid diethylamide, and its metabolites in human plasma, serum, and urine samples following their solid phase extraction (SPE)
- Quantification of psilocin from plasma samples by solid phase extraction in mixed mode and liquid chromatography-electrospray ionization-tandem mass spectrometry
- Urine analysis for psilocin and muscimol using single drop microextraction combined with capillary electrophoresis (SDME-CE) without any sample clean-up step
Features and Benefits
- Fully characterized under ISO/IEC 17025 and ISO 17034 accreditation
- Accompanied with a comprehensive Certificate of Analysis (CoA) with data on stability, homogeneity, accuracy of concentration, uncertainty, and traceability
- Rigorously tested through real-time stability studies to ensure accuracy and shelf life
- Gravimetrically prepared using qualified precision balances to ensure minimal uncertainty
- Flame sealed under argon into ampoules for long-term shelf life
- Offered in a convenient, DEA-exempt format to improve laboratory efficiency
