Low Molecular Weight Heparin (LMWH) contains a unique pentasaccharide sequence capable of binding to antithrombin (AT), a plasma coagulation inhibitor. LMWH exerts its anticoagulant properties by enhancing the effectiveness of plasma coagulation inhibitors. To ensure the accuracy of measuring LMWH′s anticoagulant activity, AT-dependent assays are employed.
