General description
El cloruro de 2,3,5-trifeniltetrazolio es un colorante hidrosoluble incoloro. En las mitocondrias de las células vivas, es reducido a un compuesto insoluble en agua de color rojo profundo (formazán). El cloruro de 2,3,5-trifeniltetrazolio ayuda a distinguir entre tejido cerebral viable e infartado después de un accidente cerebrovascular.
Application
El cloruro de 2,3,5-trifeniltetrazolio se ha utilizado para teñir tejido cardiaco con el fin de medir la extensión de una lesión aguda. También se ha utilizado para teñir tejido cerebral con el objeto de comprobar el tamaño de la zona de infarto.

The long-term solution stability of this product has not been determined. However, product 17779, a sterile 1% solution, has a shelf life of approximately 3 years.
