General description

A number of modifications of Grace′s medium were developed in several laboratories in the late 1960′s and 1970′s. Many of these modifications were developed by Dr. W.F. Hink for the growth of cells derived from the cabbage looper, Tricoplusia ni. This formula represents the modification known as TNM-FH. The medium when properly supplemented has been found to support the growth of cells derived from a variety of lepidopteran species.

Rotaviruses are triple-layered particles that contain four major capsid proteins, VP2, VP4, VP6, and VP7, and two minor proteins, VP1 and VP3. We have cloned each of the rotavirus genes coding for a major capsid protein into the baculovirus expression

Hormone-sensitive lipase (HSL) is an intracellular lipase that plays an important role in the hydrolysis of triacylglycerol in adipose tissue. HSL has been shown to interact with adipocyte lipid-binding protein (ALBP), a member of the family of intracellular lipid-binding proteins

Stimulation of phospholipase D (PLD) by membrane receptors is now recognized as a major signal transduction pathway involved in diverse cellular functions. Rho proteins control receptor signaling to PLD, and these GTPases have been shown to directly stimulate purified recombinant

G protein-coupled receptor kinases (GRKs) are implicated in the homologous desensitization of G protein-coupled receptors. Six GRK subtypes have so far been identified, named GRK1 to GRK6. The functional state of the GRKs can be actively regulated in different ways.
