General description

Can this silver stain kit stain proteins without cysteines?

This kit has not been tested for use in samples with specifically no cysteine. There is a modification in the protocol should the sample have few cysteine residues. While cysteine is important in the mechanism of silver staining, the link below indicates that it may be possible:
