Descripción general
Agargel™ is a proprietary blend of agar and phytagel. Phytagel is intended for use in place of agar and other gelling agents for plant tissue culture. Phytagel has been shown to be a superior substitute for tissue-culture-grade agar in the micropropagation of banana plantlets. The typical working concentration is 3.5-5.0 g/L.
Aplicación
Agargel™ has been used:
- as a gelling agent for the solidification of B5 medium to study the effect of the gelling agent at different concentrations on the maturation of avocado somatic embryos
- as a component of the Murashige and Skoog basal medium (BM) to culture terminal and auxiliary buds from V. jatamansi
- for the solidification of the hydroponic solution to grow Arabidopsis thaliana
