General description

3-(Decyldimethylammonio)propanesulfonate inner salt, a zwitterionic surfactant, is a sulfobetaine. Sulfobetaines contain a positively charged quaternary ammonium group and a negatively charged sulfonic group.

Application

3-(Decyldimethylammonio)propanesulfonate inner salt was used:
  • In a study to demonstrate a polyurethane chip that electrostatically binds to immunoglobulin G (IgG).
  • In a study to describe a method for isolating a high yield of Arabidopsis chloroplasts.
  • Solubilization of oleosins.
Zwitterionic detergent used for protein solubilization.
