Gene Information

human ... RBPJ(3516)

General description

RBPJ is a transcriptional repressor that targets notch signaling. Studies have reported that it can activate the K14/vGPCR promoter of Kaposi′s sarcoma-associated herpesvirus (KSHV). Furthermore, RBPJ has also been implicated in the differentiation suppression of myogenic precursor cells.
Rabbit Anti-RBPJ antibody recognizes human, bovine, canine, and mouse RBPJ.

Immunogen

Synthetic peptide directed towards the C terminal region of human RBPSUH

Application

Rabbit Anti-RBPJ antibody can be used for western blot (0.25μg/ml) assays.

Biochem/physiol Actions

RBPSUH is a DNA binding protein that activates a full transcriptional response but only demonstrates partial anti-apoptotic activity. RTA-mediated redirection of RBPSUH activity from repression to activation is critical for lytic viral replication.

Sequence

Synthetic peptide located within the following region: RPHCSAAGAILRANSSQVPPNESNTNSEGSYTNASTNSTSVTSSTATVVS

Physical form

Purified antibody supplied in 1x PBS buffer with 0.09% (w/v) sodium azide and 2% sucrose.

Notch is involved in the cell fate determination of many cell lineages. The intracellular region (RAMIC) of Notch1 transactivates genes by interaction with a DNA binding protein RBP-J. We have compared the activities of mouse RAMIC and its derivatives in

The Kaposi's sarcoma-associated herpesvirus (KSHV) gene product virally encoded G protein-coupled receptor (vGPCR) is a homolog of cellular GPCRs and has been proposed to play important roles in KSHV-induced angiogenesis. The most abundant vGPCR-containing transcripts are K14/vGPCR bicistronic RNAs that
