Descrizione generale

Aflatoxin B1 (AFB1) is a carcinogenic compound that induces transversion of G to T at codon 249 of the p53 tumor suppressor gene.[1] AFB1 is the most common in food and amongst the most potent genotoxic and carcinogenic aflatoxins. It is produced by both Aspergillus flavus and A. parasiticus.

Applicazioni

AFB1 solution was used as reference standard for the analysis of mycotoxins in paprika using LC-FD and LC-MS.[2] AFB1 may be used as spiking standard solution to compare and determine AFB1 in corn and peanut samples using ultra-high-pressure liquid chromatography with UV detection.[3]
