Azioni biochim/fisiol

Tolperisone is an ion channel blocker and centrally acting muscle relaxant.
Tolperisone is derived from piperidine[1] and possesses membrane stabilizing action.[2] It helps in reducing the effect of spasticities associated with the nervous and muscular system.[3] It exhibits muscle relaxant action through attenuating voltage-gated sodium channels in the brain stem.[3]
Tolperisone regulates ionic currents in myelinates axons and subsequently decreases excitability and mediates its antispastic functions3.

Nota sulla preparazione

Tolperisone hydrochloride dissolves in water at a concentration that is greater than 20 mg/ml.
