This kit has not been tested for suitability in monkey. It is recommended that the end user run a protein BLAST to compare homology between species. For ELISA, if there is a >60% homology, it is likely the kit can work for NHP samples.

Biochem/physiol Actions
D-Dimer is a fibrin degradation product. It facilitates the activation of the coagulation system. Overexpression of the D-dimer contributes to endothelial dysfunction in virologically suppressed, human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) -infected adults. In addition, increased expression of the gene also serves as a potent predictive biomarker, in patients at risk for disseminated intravascular coagulation (DIC).
