Informazioni sul gene

human ... FAS(355)

Descrizione generale

The FAS receptor (FasR) is a protein encoded by the TNFRSF6 gene in humans and is mapped to chromosomal band 10q24.1. It is a cell surface antigen expressed on a variety of normal and malignant cells.[1][2]

Immunogeno

Immunogen Sequence: GI # 4507583, sequence 21-165
Recombinant tumor necrosis factor receptor superfamily, member 6 isoform 1

Applicazioni

Anti-FAS (ab1) antibody produced in chicken is suitable for western blotting analysis at a dilution of 1:500, for tissue or cell staining at a dilution of 1:200.

Azioni biochim/fisiol

The FAS receptor (FasR) is associated with programmed cell death (apoptosis). It functions as an apoptosis-signaling cell surface Ag. Mutation of the gene or defective FAS signaling may render the T-cell lymphoblastic lymphomas (T-LBLs) tumor cells resistant to apoptotic cell death.[3]

Stato fisico

Solution in phosphate buffered saline containing 0.02% sodium azide.

The acquisition of resistance towards FAS-mediated apoptosis may be required for tumor formation. Tumors from various histological origins exhibit FAS mutations, the most frequent being hematological malignancies. However, data regarding FAS mutations or FAS signaling alterations are still lacking in
