Descrizione generale

Tris(2-carboxyethyl)-phosphine hydrochloride (TCEP) is a strong reducing agent that is stable in an aqueous solution. It readily and stoichiometrically reduces disulfides with high specificity. TCEP exhibits reducing activity at pH 1.5 to pH 9.0 and reduces dehydroascorbic acid (DHA) at pH 4.

Applicazioni

Tris(2-carboxyethyl)phosphine hydrochloride has been used:
  • as a component of IRE1 dialysis buffer, RNA cleavage buffer, and in in vitro cleavage assay of in vitro transcribed RNA
  • in reducing sulfhydryl groups to obtain total thiol fraction
  • to reduce protein samples

Reagente solubile in acqua, utilizzato per la riduzione selettiva dei disolfuri. Più stabile del DTT, viene utilizzato in applicazioni di spettrometria di massa.
