Application

Biotin (5-fluorescein) conjugate is a reagent that may be used in situations similar to fluorescein isothiocyanate staining to label avidin/streptavidin conjugated molecules such as antibodies with the fluorophore 5-fluorescein.

Packaging

Bottomless glass bottle. Contents are inside inserted fused cone.

Other Notes

Biotin-fluorescein conjugate for the fluorometric, accurate measurement of avidin and streptavidin.
Often referred to as Biotin (4-fluorescein) conjugate.

Questions

1–3 of 3 Questions
  1. What is the recommended concentration for dilution?

    1 answer
    1. The solubility of Biotin (5-fluorescein) conjugate 53608-1MG-F is not a specification for product release.
However it should be soluble in DMSO (D8418) at least up to a concentration of 3 mM.
The concentration for dilution will be dependent on the experiment design and will need to be determined empirically unless you have an academic paper similar to your experiment design that provides that information.

  2. What is the extinction coefficient for product 53608.

    1 answer
    1. Although the excitation and emission wavelengths are measured during quality control testing, there is no testing to determine the extinction coefficient for 53608 (Biotin (5-fluorescein) conjugate). There was no information on file regarding the extinction coefficient for product 53608.

  3. what are the solvents required to dilute these two reagents and also the recommended concentration?

    1 answer
    1. The solubility of Biotin (5-fluorescein) conjugate 53608-1MG-F is not a specification for product release, but it should be soluble in DMSO at least up to a concentration of 3 mM.
