General description
La versatilità dell′EDC HCl si rivela ulteriormente nella sua capacità di modificare gli acidi nucleici, rendendo possibile la marcatura di DNA ed RNA a livello dei rispettivi gruppi 5′ fosfato. Tale marcatura migliora la visualizzazione, il tracciamento e l′analisi di molecole così importanti, contribuendo in modo significativo all′avanzamento della ricerca sugli acidi nucleici. Per di più, l′EDC HCl può essere impiegato come ponte biomolecolare essenziale, agendo da crosslinker e attivando la coniugazione tra esteri N-idrossisuccinimmidici (esteri NHS) di biomolecole e biomolecole reattive a livello di gruppi amminici. Questa tecnica si rivela particolarmente utile nella coniugazione di proteine mirata alla creazione di una molecola ibrida con nuove proprietà e nuove funzioni. Il meccanismo soggiacente prevede che l′EDC HCl reagisca con il gruppo carbossilico di una prima proteina, con formazione di un intermedio instabile propenso ad accoppiarsi con il gruppo amminico libero di una seconda proteina. How is shipping temperature determined? And how is it related to the product storage temperature?

Products may be shipped at a different temperature than the recommended long-term storage temperature. If the product quality is sensitive to short-term exposure to conditions other than the recommended long-term storage, it will be shipped on wet or dry-ice. If the product quality is NOT affected by short-term exposure to conditions other than the recommended long-term storage, it will be shipped at ambient temperature. As shipping routes are configured for minimum transit times, shipping at ambient temperature helps control shipping costs for our customers. What impurities might be present in N-(3-Dimethylaminopropyl)-N´-ethylcarbodiimide hydrochloride, Product E7750?

The two compounds most likely to appear in EDAC as trace impurities are 3-dimethylaminopropylamine and N-(3-dimethylaminopropyl)-N'-ethylurea as a result of synthesis (intermediate) and degradation (moisture or coupling reaction), respectively.

Product No. E7750, N-(3-Dimethylaminopropyl)-N´-ethylcarbodiimide hydrochloride, is listed as "commercial grade". What does that mean?

It means that it is the grade of N-(3-Dimethylaminopropyl)-N´-ethylcarbodiimide (EDAC) hydrochloride that was commercially available at the time we purchased it. This product is not assayed for purity. If you need a high purity EDAC, consider Product No. 03450.

This paper describes using the E7750 along with 3,4-dihydro-3-hydroxy-4-oxo-1,2,3-benzotriazine (HOOBt) and 1-hydroxy-7-azabenzotriazole (HOAt) for enhancement of peptide coupling.
