N-(7-nitrobenz-2-oxa-1,3-diazol-4-yl) phosphoethanolamine (NBD PE) is a fluorescent probe which contains NBD, a fluorophore, attached to the headgroup of phosphatidylethanolamine mostly present in brain. It Phosphoethanolamine is the second most abundant, metabolically related aminophospholipid, localized at the membrane interface.

Azioni biochim/fisiol

Phosphoethanolamine present in cardiac myocytes helps in preventing cell damage after ischemia. N-(7-nitrobenz-2-oxa-1,3-diazol-4-yl) phosphoethanolamine (NBD PE) aids is monitoring the Red edge excitation shift (REES) effects with its unique motional and dielectric properties.
