Description générale

Activity regulated cytoskeleton associated protein (Arc) is encoded by the gene mapped to human chromosome 8q24.3.

Immunogène

synthetic peptide corresponding to a sequence at the C-terminal region of human Arc, conjugated to KLH. The corresponding sequence is identical in rat and mouse Arc.

Actions biochimiques/physiologiques

Activity regulated cytoskeleton associated protein (Arc) plays a vital role in memory formation. It also facilitates activity-dependent plasticity of dendrites. Mutation in the gene has been associated with the development of idiopathic generalized epilepsy (IGE).

Forme physique

Solution in 0.01 M phosphate buffered saline, pH 7.4, containing 15 mM sodium azide.

The two hypothalamic neuropeptides oxytocin and melanin concentrating hormone (MCH) share several physiological actions such as the control of maternal care, sexual behavior, and emotions. In this study, we uncover the role for the oxytocin-MCH signaling pathway in mood regulation.
