Immunogène

synthetic peptide (approximately 2.5 kDa, native) derived from the C-terminal region of the EDG-8/S1P5 receptor.

Application

Anti-S1P5, C-Terminal antibody produced in rabbit is suitable for western blotting at a working concentration of 5 to 10 μg/ml using RH7777 cells transfected with full length human EDG-8.

Actions biochimiques/physiologiques

Sphingosine-1-phosphate receptor 5 (S1PR5) is a human gene which encodes a G protein-coupled receptor. It binds to lipid signaling molecule sphingosine 1-phosphate (S1P). S1PR5 regulates NK cell migration and distribution by interacting with sphingosine-1-phosphate (S1P). In brain endothelial cells (ECs), it contributes to optimal barrier formation and maintains immune quiescence of the barrier endothelium. S1PR5 is localized in the centrosome of mammalian cells and may participate in regulating mitosis. It may function as an intracellular target of S1P linked to regulation of mitosis.

We show here that the endogenous sphingosine 1-phosphate 5 receptor (S1P(5), a G protein coupled receptor (GPCR) whose natural ligand is sphingosine 1-phosphate (S1P)) and sphingosine kinases 1 and 2 (SK1 and SK2), which catalyse formation of S1P, are co-localised
