Informations sur le gène

human ... BMP2(650)

Description générale

Bone morphogenetic protein 2 (UniProt: P12643; also known as BMP-2, BMP-2A, Bone morphogenetic protein 2A) is encoded by the BMP2 (also known as BMP2A) gene (Gene ID 650) in human. BMP2 is a member of the transforming growth factor-beta (TGF-beta) superfamily. It is synthesized as a 60-kDa precursor that is processed in the secretory pathway to a small 18-kDa monomer; 2 monomers then associate to form the active homodimer, which binds to its receptor. BMP2 can induce bone formation and regeneration during early embryonic development. It is also involved in the hedgehog pathway, TGF beta signaling pathway, and cytokine-cytokine receptor interaction. BMP2 is known to induce cartilage and bone formation and stimulates the differentiation of myoblasts into osteoblasts via the EIF2AK3-EIF2A- ATF4 pathway. BMP2 activation of EIF2AK3 stimulates phosphorylation of EIF2A, which leads to increased expression of ATF4 that plays a critical role in osteoblast differentiation.

Spécificité

This rabbit polyclonal antibody targets a region present in Prepro-, pro-, and mature human BMP2.

Immunogène

GST-tagged recombinant protein composed of the propeptide C-terminal region and the mature human BMP2 N-terminal region.

Application

Anti-BMP2, Cat. No. ABN898, is a highly specific rabbit polyclonal antibody that targets bone morphogenetic protein 2 and has been tested in Immunohistochemistry (Paraffin) and Western Blotting.
Immunohistochemistry Analysis: A 1:50 dilution from a representative lot detected BMP2 immunoreactivity in human prostate cancer, cerebellum, and tonsil tissue sections.
Research Category
Neuroscience

Qualité

Evaluated by Western Blotting in human kidney tissue lysate.

Western Blotting Analysis: A 1:500 dilution of this antibody detected BMP2 in 10 µg of human kidney tissue lysate.

Description de la cible

~45 kDa observed. 44.70/42.48/12.90 kDa (Prepro-/pro-/mature human BMP2 monomer). Target band size appears larger due to glycosylation and dimerization. Uncharacterized bands may be observed in some lysate(s).

Liaison

Replaces: ABN303

Forme physique

Affinity purified.
Purified rabbit polyclonal antibody in buffer containing 0.1 M Tris-Glycine (pH 7.4), 150 mM NaCl with 0.05% sodium azide.
