General description

The ApoB ELISA kit provides for the Quantitative measurement of ApoB-100 in Cell Culture Supernatants, Plasma and Serum.
The APOB (apolipoprotein B) gene is mapped to human chromosome 2p24.1. Apob protein is an amphipathic protein that exists as α- helices and β-sheets. Apob is present in the major lipoproteins : chylomicrons, low density lipoproteins and very low density lipoprotein.

Application

For research use only. Not for use in diagnostic procedures.
Please refer to the attached General ELISA KIT Procedure (sandwich, competitive & Indirect ELISA)

Biochem/physiol Actions

Apob (apolipoprotein B) functions in the low-density lipoprotein cholesterol segregation. Increased APOB gene expression is observed in non-alcoholic fatty liver disease and contributes to its pathogenesis. Reduced Apob protein is indicated in familial hypobetalipoproteinemia.
