Cell Line Origin

Rat Lou/MN spleen x Mouse Sp2/0

Cell Line Description

The hybridoma KM703 was produced by the fusion of Sp2/0 mouse myeloma cells with spleen cells from a Lou/MN rat immunised with the bone marrow derived stromal cell clone, BMS2. The monoclonal antibody recognises an epitope on Pgp-1, the murine homologue of CD44. It prevents the growth of lymphoid or myeloid cells in long term bone marrow cultures.

Immunogen

BUS 2 cells

Application

Determination of ligand specifities and function of Pgp-1/CD44 molecules.
The isotype of the monoclonal antibody produced by this cell line is rat IgG2a.

Culture Medium

RPMI 1640 + 2mM glutamine + 0.05mM 2-mercaptoethanol (2ME) + 10% Foetal Bovine Serum (FBS)

Subculture Routine

Maintain cultures between 3-9x100,000 cells/ml; 5% CO2; 37°C
