General description

Axin1 (axis inhibitor-1 or axin) functions as a negative regulator of Wnt signaling. Axin1 is known to associate with several members of the Wnt pathway such as β-catenin, glycogen synthase kinase-3b (GSK-3b), dishevelled (Dsh) and adenomatous polyposis coli (APC),,,.
Rabbit Anti-Axin1 (C-terminal) antibody is specific for rat and mouse axin1 by immunoblotting (∼130 kDa). Staining of the axin1 band in immunoblotting is specifically inhibited by the immunizing peptide

Immunogen

synthetic peptide corresponding to amino acids 815-832 located near the C-terminal of rat axin1, conjugated to KLH. This sequence is highly conserved (single amino acid substitution) in human, mouse, and bovine axin1.

Application

Anti-Axin1 (C-terminal) antibody is suitable for use in western blot (0.1-0.2 μg/mL using HEK-293 cells expressing mouse Axin-1). The antibody has also been used for immunoblotting assays in astrocytoma cell lysates.
Applications in which this antibody has been used successfully, and the associated peer-reviewed papers, are given below.
