Gene Information

General description

Striatin is found in all mammalian cells and may be involved in vesicular transport, dendrite growth and cellular signalling. It binds Protein phosphatase 2A (PP2A) A and C subunits and calmodulin and appears to modulate PP2A activity. It also binds the human homolog of the yeast protein, Mob1, which has been implicated in mitotic progression in yeast. It is a member of a family of proteins that also include SG2NA (striatin 3) and Zinedin (striatin 4).

Specificity

Reacts with Striatin. No cross reactivity with SG2NA.

Immunogen

Synthetic Striatin peptide.

Application

Anti-Striatin Antibody detects level of Striatin & has been published & validated for use in IP, WB & IC.

Biology of sex differences, 6, 12-12 (2015-07-02)
Abdominal aortic aneurysms (AAAs) occur predominately in males. However, AAAs in females have rapid growth rates and rupture at smaller sizes. Mechanisms contributing to AAA progression in females are undefined. We defined effects of ovariectomy, with and without 17-β estradiol
