General description

Native troponin I purified from human heart. Inhibitory subunit of troponin that binds to actin in the absence of Ca2+, thus inhibiting the ATPase activity of actomyosin. Presence of Tnl in plasma has been used for early detection of myocardial infarction. Useful as a standard in immunoassay and as an immunogen for anti-sera production. Also useful as a tracer for iodination.
