Description générale

Phosphatidylcholines (PCs) are amphipathic molecules. PC accounts for approximately 40–50% of the total cellular phospholipids. They are usually located on the outer leaflets of the biological membrane bilayer.[1]
The list of Phosphatidylcholine products offered by Avanti is designed to provide compounds having a variety of physical properties. Products available include short chain (C3-C8 are water soluble and hygroscopic), saturated, multi-unsaturated and mixed acid PC′s. All of the products are purified by HPLC, and special precautions are taken to protect the products for oxidization and hydrolysis.

Application

15:0 PC (1,2-dipentadecanoyl-sn-glycero-3-phosphocholine) may be used to prepare giant unilamellar lipid vesicles (GUVs).[2] It has been used as an internal standard for lipidomics analysis in BXD liver samples[3] and plasma samples.[4]

Actions biochimiques/physiologiques

Phosphatidylcholine (PC) may play a vital role in the signaling of neuronal differentiation.[5]
