Description générale

Mannosidase alpha class 1C member 1 (MAN1C1) is a member of the glycosyl hydrolase 47 family. MAN1C1 is a type II membrane protein with sequence similarity to class Iα,2-mannosidases, which localizes to the Golgi apparatus membrane.

Application

Anti-MAN1C1 antibody produced in rabbit has been used in immunoblotting.

Actions biochimiques/physiologiques

Mannosidase alpha class 1C member 1 (MAN1C1) is involved in the maturation of Asn-linked oligosaccharides and quality control. It trims α-1,2-linked mannose residues from Glc3Man9GlcNAc2 to produce the Man5GlcNAc2 processing intermediate. MAN1C1 overexpression accelerates endoplasmic reticulum-associated protein degradation (ERAD) of terminally misfolded human null Hong Kongα1-antitrypsin.
