General description

Prophos is an insecticide and nematicide, which is incorporated into the soil in granular formulations. It is used in controlling parasitic nematodes in plants and soil insects. Its mode of action basically involves the inhibition of acetylcholinesterase.

Application

Prophos may be used as a reference standard in the determination of prophos in samples of agrochemicals using direct analysis in real time ionization coupled to a single-quadrupole mass spectrometer (DART-MS).
