General description

Cyanocobalamin (B12) is a water soluble vitamin, which belongs to the B12 class of vitamins, commonly called as cobalamins.(1) It is mainly found in animal products such as dairy products, meat and also eggs. It can find applications in the preparation of multivitamin supplements and fortified food. It works as a coenzyme to convert L-methylmalonyl CoA to succinyl CoA, which is catalyzed by isomerase.

Application

Cyanocobalamin (B12) may be used as an analytical reference standard for the determination of the analyte in pharmaceutical formulations and food products by various chromatography techniques.
Refer to the product′s Certificate of Analysis for more information on a suitable instrument technique. Contact Technical Service for further support.
