Glucose/regulated protein 78 (GRP78) is a stress-associated protein. It is mapped to human chromosome 9q33.3. It is also known as HSPA5 (heat shock 70kDa protein 5) and immunoglobulin heavy chain binding protein (BiP). It is present in nucleated cells like thyroid, lung, smooth muscle, liver and several cells of the immune system.
The molecular weight of GRP78 is 78kDa.
Immunogen
The antiserum was produced against synthesized peptide derived from human GRP78.
Immunogen Range: 605-654
Biochem/physiol Actions
GRP78 levels are elevated during various human cancers and tumors.
Glucose/regulated protein 78 (GRP78) participates in stress-associated diseases. It also participates in protein biogenesis (protein transport into the endoplasmic reticulum (ER), protein folding and assembly and ER associated protein degradation), signal transduction and calcium homeostasis.

Preimplantation-stage embryos are susceptible to various types of stress when cultured in vitro. Parthenogenetic embryos that lack spermatozoa contribution exhibit aberrant developmental dynamics due to their uniparental origin. Herein, we assessed whether the absence of paternal genome affects the susceptibility of
