Gene Information

General description

Rattin or RNR2 (RNA, ribosomal 45S cluster 2) is a subunit of the ribonucleoside diphosphate reductase. It is located on chromosome 14p12.

Immunogen

peptide corresponding to the rattin peptide (amino acids 20-35), which is not in the conserved region to humanin.

Biochem/physiol Actions

Rattin or RNR2 (RNA, ribosomal 45S cluster 2) helps in the synthesis of nucleotide precursors. It is responsible for the formation of the deoxyribonucleotides required for DNA synthesis. It is an important cofactor of HIV-1, that induces reverse transcription in MDMs (monocyte-derived macrophages).

Physical form

Solution of 1 mg/mL in phosphate buffered saline containing 0.02% sodium azide.
