Insulin-like growth factor II (IGF II) also refers as multiplication stimulating activity or MSA is a protein that is structurally similar to proinsulin. It is a potent mitogen for many cultured cells like mouse 3T3 cells, normal rat kidney cells, human or chicken fibroblasts and MCF-7 human breast carcinoma cells. IGF II possess mitogenic growth factor property and hence facilitates growth-promoting activity in embryonic development. Anti-Insulin-Like Growth Factor-II antibody can be used for neutralization assays. Goat anti-Insulin-Like Growth Factor-II antibody reacts specifically with recombinant mouse IGF-II. The product has also shown 25% (approx.) cross-reactivity with recombinant human IGF-II.
Immunogen
purified recombinant mouse insulin-like growth factor II, expressed in E. coli.
Application
Anti-Insulin-Like Growth Factor-II antibody can be used in ELISA and western blotting.
Physical form
Lyophilized from a 0.2 μm filtered solution in phosphate buffered saline with 5% trehalose.
